AISBackup: Backup Prompts and Messages

The following prompts and messages may be displayed during the Backup process.

The prompts and messages are shown in the order that you are likely to receive them.

Reason / Options Prompt

Reason

You are attempting to backup to CD but have not specified the CD Drive in Options or have no CD writer.

 

Options

Click OK to Abort, correct Options if you have a CD writer.

Reason

You are attempting to backup to a network drive but it is not available.

 

Options

Click OK to Abort, Map the network drive as appropriate.

Reason

You have just clicked Backup, this question confirms that you wish to run the backup.

 

Preview may be used to check which files have been selected for backup, one or more files may be seelcted to exclude from this backup.

 

Options

Click Start to run the backup, Cancel to abort.

Reason

The backup is to CD, this is the last CD that the backup used.

 

Options

  1. Load the Requested CD then click OK.

  2. Load a New, Uniquely Labelled CD then click Use Loaded CD

  3. Load another partially used CD-R, CD-RW then click Use Loaded CD.

  4. Click Abort to abandon the Backup.

Notes

  1. If a CD is already loaded it's name is shown just below the OK button between the [].

  2. If this is the first time that the backup is run the prompt is 'Please Load Unknown'.

  3. If this prompt is for a change of CD the prompt is 'Please Load a Uniquely Labelled CD'.

Reason

You clicked Abort on the Please Load CD prompt.

Click OK to dismiss the prompt.

Reason

The hard drive containing the backup is full.

 

Options

Click OK to dismiss the prompt.

Reason

The hard drive containing the backup is full, the free space reported on the drive is incorrect - run Scandisk.

 

Options

Click OK to dismiss the prompt.

Reason

The Backup has finished. This form enables you to add a comment to the backup. A comment has already been started which states the completion status of the backup (success or failure). 

 

If the backup was incomplete the Mark Backup As Safe option is shown, you may select this if you consider that the backup is, in fact, okay.

 

Options

Click Continue to proceed.

Reason

The backup was aborted.

 

Options

Click OK to dismiss the prompt.

Reason

The backup was successful.

 

Options

Click OK to dismiss the prompt.
