BartPE Plugin

Post by Barry »

A program was started to create the plug-in, this will be completed as soon as possible. A DVD was created with the plug-in and a copy of a disk based backup - using Bart's add files.

Notes:

The backup must fit on one DVD if you only have one drive, if you have more than one drive the there is no need to create a separate DVD backup.

For network backups BartPE is a bit 'hit and miss' as to whether it recognises the PC's N.I.C.

USB and FireWire has not been tried yet.

BartPE will not create a bootable DVD without an additional download, although you can create an iso and use an DVD burning application to makethe DVD, we have a hidden option in AISBackup 2.2 to burn iso files to CD or DVD via the Tools Menu (press * until debug mode).

Care must be taken to get DiskPart working as the rules are different for XP SP1 and XP SP2, see BartPE documentation.

BartPE is great for fixing dead PC's, and is well worth the time and effort creating the CD whether or not you are an AISBackup user!!!!

Prototype BartPE plug-in builder

Post by Barry »

Hi

Here is a prototype AISBackup plug-in builder for BartPE, please let us know if it works okay. AISBackup should automatically be selected in BartPE when this program is run, but this is worth checking.
