Copy files - 1 way sync

Post by Brian2 »

I want to mirror a folder including it's sub-folders to another disk.
When something get added or deleted that should be updated on the target disk.

But if something for whatever reason gets added or deleted from the target should not be added/deleted on the source.
So one way mirroring/syncing.

How can I do that with AISbackup?
I found the Copy Mode but that ask me to confirm if it is allowed to deleted files on the target drive.
I want it to be a scheduled background task.

BTW it deletes whole folders on the target disk that are still on the source disk. So I must be overlooking a major thing.

There is a parameter when setting up the copy job schedule to enable the automated deleting of files that no longer exist in the source folders:

Manage Backup / AutoRun this Copy Job (MS Task Scheuduler)
Select Remove deleted files from destination

It may be wise not to set this until the possible problem with file deletions is looked into. Please e-mail the .buz file for this copy job (Type: AISBackup Job File) for this copy job so that the same can be set-up here. This file is in the C:\ProgramData\Aquarius IS Consultancy\AISBackup\Database, however ProgramData is usually hidden but mat be displayed by typing it into the File Explorer address bar (c:\programdata).

There is no .buz because I didn't create a task. I just did a manual test

An update has been made to the one way copy option to not select folders for candidates for deletion if all files in their root folder have been selected for copy. This is in pre-release here https://aiscl.co.uk/aisbackupbeta.php
