a format utility for hard drives would be great. I have been doing some disaster recovery scenarios and I could not get AIS to restore data to a hard drive unless it has some type of formatting on it (fat32 or NTFS) I had to format with a 3rd party utility and then run the restore for it work correctly.

Just think it would be nice feature to make it quicker for restoring in case a hard drive did fail and you had to put a new one in that wasn't setup yet.

Disk partitioning and formatting has been added to one part of AISBackup - this option looks strange but can be cancelled after the drive has been formatted: New Job / Copy the Windows system disk to a drive or partition / Next

You may either let AISBackup perform formatting etc or use the Run Microsoft Disk Manager option

Just cancel this option once finished with disk partitioning.

Why did you use a 3rd party option rather than Disk Manager?
