Simple Report

Post by mhenning »

Could we get a simple report that shows a listing of the files that are included in a backup job? A simple listing of the files and the source path of each file is all I am really looking for.

List of files selected for backup

Post by Barry »

Does the View / Job Properties menu option give you the information you require?

The text may be selected, copied and printed from another application (like MS Word) if you want.

Here is an example:

Code: Select all

File and Folder Selection:

Selected for backup:

Files and Folders from Folder: C:\AISLogs
Files and Folders from Folder: C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi5\MyD5VCL
Files and Folders from Folder: C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi5\Projects
Files and Folders from Folder: C:\Source
Files and Folders from Folder: C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\John\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Files and Folders from Folder: C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\John\My Documents
Files and Folders from Folder: K:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\MyD7VCL
Files and Folders from Folder: K:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\Projects

These files have been globally excluded from the backup:

*.~* *.tmp ~*.*

That's not bad

I would also like a listing of overy file and a verification that the file was backed up. I am sure that would hardly ever be used, but it would give my boss a warm cozy if I could provide him a detail report of all the files that exist in a backup.

Pysical Backup Report

Post by Barry »

AISBackup already lists the files which were physically backed up in each backup session, this will be easier to access in the next version of AISBackup, but is under View / View Sessions .

If you want to look at what's coming download:
http://www.aiscl.co.uk/build277/aisbi277.exe
The log files are availble by a new Backup History Logs button, each having its own tab.

AISBackup always logs errors but if you really want to make a potentially huge log file then seelct this option:

Manage Backup / Change Backup Job Settings / Log Everything
