In the distant future, when AISBackup no longer exists...

Hi All,
I'm evaluating AISBackup & really just have one question left.
Suppose I need to restore some data years from now from a generation-based backup in the absence of the AISBackup application (but there still is something that understands the zip format). If the files are unzipped in numerical order into the same directory, overwriting as necessary, will that restore the latest state of the data, or is it more complicated than that?
Thanks,
-Jim C.
