MS System Info

Post by Nicolas Forwood »

When I do a backup, under the window "AISB Auto Select Files" there is an entry for "MS system Restore Information"

I run Vista Home Premium and would like to know what this entry is for and if I should include it in my backup

There is a hidden folder called System Volume Information; this is what the message is referring to.

As Microsoft list parts of this folder that should not be backed up in the registry and AISBackup uses this information from the next release the System Volume Information will be selected by default and the parts that Microsoft suggest should not be backed up will be auctioned by default.

So as not to upset existing backup jobs AISBackup will only make this change when making new backup jobs.
