HP Simple save wiith AIS backup

I have just bought an HP 1TB simplesave disk drive. I would like to get rid of the simplesave software and use the drive with AIS backup. Is that possible? If so, how? And I can presumably set AIS to run frequently. The thing is that the HP simplesave doesn't keep a history of files changed as AIS does.
any ideas?

Nick

Did you know that the disk came with SimpleSave? - get your retailer to swap it for a regular external drive, i.e. a disk that is ONLY an external drive and comes with no additional software and utilities.
There is some internet discussion about disabling / removing SimpleSave here:

I did, Barry, but I never dreamt that the software wouldn't keep old versions. I doubt that the option to swap out is there. I will look at that but also the disabling option.
I should have checked that more carefully but it was on year end special - too good to miss!
Thanks for the reply.
