I was wondering if an option exists to disable the reload dvd in the tray when check file integrity option is used? Does it always have to be reloaded for a compare?

Thanks

CD / DVD reloading prior to test

AISBackup does try and access the new data written to DVD, however if it cannot then the DVD must be reloaded. When data is added to a disc the contents file is rewritten and the only way Windows can access the new contents is to reload the disc. I know this is really inconvenient if the backup is unattended on a laptop.

As an alternative: If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 consider using the direct to CD/DVD method instead of the DVD ROM method - in this option the CD and DVD behaves more like a regular disk.

Thanks Barry. I'm running xp sp2 and did a search and found this:

Do you think this would make it work?

You would have the same problem, the disc would have to be reloaded to switch to the new table of contents.
