Hello folks.
My mother-in-law's computer was set up as FAT32 and she's getting a new hard drive. I've done a backup of her FAT32 C: partition and I'm wondering if I can set up her new hard drive as NTFS and then restore that backup onto her new C partition. (Okay, the whole plan is to do a new install of Windows onto the new HD and then do the restore over the newly installed Windows.) Or will there be some kind of FAT32/NTFS conflict? She's running WinXP Pro.
Thanks a lot.
backup from FAT32, restore to NTFS?
FAT32 to NTFS
Hi
It is okay to restore FAT32 to NTFS on Windows XP (and the other versions of Windows that support NTFS).
