Copying files to NAS drive

I've been trying to use the "file copy" method to copy files to an NAS drive. It's something I've been doing routinely with a program called "File Boss" When I try to do it with AISBackup, as soon as I try starting the copy I get a string of error messages like "Could not create folder....with short name" followed by strings of error messages saying "Access is denied...".

If I do the same with a straight USB connected external drive, everything runs sweetly with no errors.

The whole point of copying to the NAS drive is to enable the two other PC's in my small home network to access them, so it's a pity it doesn't seem to work with AISBackup, that has a far better interface than FileBoss.

Is there any way around this?

You would get the cannot create folder name with short name message because the NAS does not support short file name renaming – this is a warning and not an error.

The Access denied message is reported by the NAS, is this a Windows or Linux based NAS? Is anything created on the NAS?

Try the copy without copying the NTFS file security settings.
