I am only backing up 1 GB of data onto a DVD, so i have no need for differential or incremental backups, I just want to copy the data.
However i configure AISBackup, it will not accept a blank dvd, and write onto it, even with "use loaded media" ticked. It requires me to click "OK" to confirm it can use the DVD.
I don't want to label the disk, just use a new one every time - they are cheap!
How do i set up AISBackup to to a full copy operation every night, using any old DVD that is in the drive?
Simple Copy
Using a disc without load disc dialogue
The option to use any disc can only be set for scheduled or ‘short cut’ jobs, and care must be taken with this option, as AISBackup will erase any RW disc in the drive if it finds one.
Select the job
Manage Backup / Create Shortcut for this backup job / Clear Backup Contents File – Backup everything / Destination Database Deletion Options – choose Erase any RW disc.
This option also works with Manage Backup / Auto run this backup job (MS Task Scheduler) / Advanced Options ...
AISBackup will also use any found write once blank disc.
Please do not leave any RW disc in the drive that you want to keep.
