I've set e-mail notification to 'Send if job fails' but I always recieve a message stating the backup was succesful.
Are there perhaps 2 places where I have to configure email notification?
AIS backup 2.2 on Win XP Pro with all updates installed.
E-mail notification
e-mail notification
The best place to set e-mail notification is using:
Manage Backup / Change Backup Job Settings / E-mail Log Options
The following options are available:
Tools / Auto Running AISBackup / E-mail Settings tab
Summary e-mail settings may be used to send messages after completion and / or failure. No backup log is sent with this option. It is recommended that backup jobs are converted to use the more flexible ‘per-job’ e-mail option which was introduced with version 2.0 of AISBackup.

Manage Backup / Change Backup Job Settings / E-mail Log Options
The following options are available:
- Send if job OK: Send e-mail if the backup completes without error.
Send if job Fails: Send e-mail is there are errors in the backup.
Send if Auto Running: Only send the above selected reports if the job is running via the task scheduler.
Send if Running from Main Interface: Only send the e-mail if the backup is running from the main interactive interface.
Tools / Auto Running AISBackup / E-mail Settings tab

The 'global' auto run e-mail option should be removed and can be found in option:
Tools / Auto Running AISBackup / E-mail Settings tab
That was setting that was causing my problems
