So renaming the file back at AISBackup.aik still complained that the job should be run as admin?
I have e-mailed you a link to a test program which just reports the administrator status as AISBackup sees it.

Registering from Admin account
Re: Register
Correct.Barry wrote:So renaming the file back at AISBackup.aik still complained that the job should be run as admin?
Your test program says my account is NOT administrator! I created a new account from that account, made it a member of Administrators and then ran it again. It says this account IS administrator, and I could register AISB without any problems.
So far as I know you can't create an acc with more privs than you start with, so something's very odd!

Admin or not admin?
Interesting! (but also annoying)
There is another part of AISBackup which looks for admin accounts:
Tools / Auto Running AISBackup / MS Task Scheduler button.
Is your user account name in the "NT User account Name" drop down list?
This list only displays active administrator accounts.

Yes, along with Administrator and Ian, the account I created earlier.Barry wrote: Is your user account name in the "NT User account Name" drop down list?

Registering AISBackup
I cannot be sure, because I have not tried this from a Domain Administrator account, but I am sure build 280 (the version uploaded today) will be able to register AISBackup from a Domain Administrators account.
