Auto Running

I have just created a new startup shortcut to run a job on every day except Wednesdays. This morning (Wednesday), the backup tried to run as normal. I seem to recall that I tried this once before and had the same problem. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I'm using build 228 on Windows 2000.

Auto-run via shortcuts in start-up group

When jobs are run via the Microsoft task scheduler they are executed at the required time, when programs are executed at start-up, i.e. via the start-up group, the program will start. The second thing AISBackup does is check the parameters to see if it should be executing any of the job names supplied in the parameter list.

The same is true if the job is set to run at start-up via the task scheduler.

Hi Barry

So if I understand you correctly, unchecking various days will have no effect if the autorun routine is copied as a startup shortcut and that the way to achieve what I want to do is to use the Microsoft Task Scheduler?

Not quite, AISBackup needs to start to see if 'today' has been checked if 'today' has not been checked then the job will not run.
