AIL files

Hi,

I looking at the created files on the backup media. I can see zip files as I expected, but I can see big .ail files as well.

could u tell me what these files represent ?

Files over a certain size (100MB by default) are not backed up in zip format but rather split into 100MB (pre-compressed) chunks. This makes it easier for us to restart failed backups (if one segment fails then the whole file does not need to be backed up).

The 100MB limit may be increased using the menu option Tools / Backup Options /Huge File Size.

In earlier versions of AISBackup the 'zip software' we used failed to zip files > 500MB.
