Restore from another computer

Post by dolph »

Following is the complete text of an issue I've also posed as a bug report - I apologize but don't know which message receives the quicker response.

Your Name: Dolph Amster
Company:

Title: Aquarius IS Backup
Program: C:\Program Files\Aquarius IS
Consultancy\AISBackup\AISBACKUP.exe
Version: 1.9.0.199
Registration Number:+K6BN ZAG3F JN66D VU7LQ DCDEH
Computer Name:RUTH
Database Location: C:\Program Files\Aquarius IS
Consultancy\AISBackup\Database\

Physical Memory: 255
Memory Loaded: 71 %
Processor: Intel Pentium
Platform: Windows XP Version: 5.1
OSBuild: 2600
Zip Version: 170
Unzip Verion: 170
CDDVDWriter1: E: SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-248F R602
PacketWriter: C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 5\DirectCD\DIRECTCD

Bug:

I am trying to move files from one computer - both have current versions
of AIS. Everything seems to be going smoothly except that AIS doesn't
recognize the external hard drive from which the files are to be moved -
but the computer does. How do I solve tis problem. My need is urgent (I
need to move all my financial records!)

Thank you.

Hi Dolph

Does the option Tools / Open Job from Backup Media work with this external drive? Was the drive connected before AISBackup was started?

Tools / Open Job from Backup Media used the standard Windows Open File interface so you should be able to see the drive and backup.

Thanks for your typically prompt response. I apologize for the delay in my answering. It turned out that I had a bad cable connecting the HD to the USB port on the computer - and it has taken me a long time both to replicate the problem and then to cure it.

As I may have written previously, I think my computer is malicious. Does anyone else feel that way about theirs?

Thanks once again; the support makes this splendid program even more so.javascript:emoticon(':D')
