Problems with scheduler

I'm running AISBackup under Win2k (SP4). Just recently, the scheduled backups have failed to start, and in the status column there's a message "Could not start". Other applications can be run successfully by the scheduler. I tried re-creating the scheduler entry; no luck. It's possible that there's a problem with my installation -- one or two other things have started behaving strangely -- so it may simply be that I have to reinstall Windows, although I'm trying to avoid that if I can. Is there anything about AISBackup that might be causing this?
One other point concerning scheduling: when you set up a scheduled backup, AISBackup insists that the user with which the scheduled event be associated must have a password, even though Win2K doesn't mind not having one. The machine in question doesn't need a password because of its location in the network I'm using, so is it possible to allow AISBackup to be more tolerant?
