DVD Support?

Hi,
I would like to know if there is some time schedule or estimation when there will be support for writing on DVD+RW (or DVD-RW)?

Within a thread from July 31. I found this:

>>>The DVD interface is been re-written to enable more efficient disc use meanwhile we recommend that a packet writing system is used. <<<

We all know, that packet writing is not the choice if reliability is the issue (and when talking about data backup reliability is most important).

AIS also specifies that when using "Third Party Writing Software" to write to DVD media ONLY single session is possible. Why this? When I burn normal data with e.g. Nero to my DVD+RW I can use multisession?

So, any information available when we can use DVD media with ALL AIS features?

Thank you
Regards
Johannes

Hi

The DVD and CD 'engine' used within AISBackup is developed by another company, they are working on multi session DVD but have given no time scales to date. Until this is ready we recommend that a third party packet writing system is used.

As soon as the multi-session DVD interface is ready we will make it available initially via a beta version of AISBackup.
