Backing up critical files
I have download all updates and critical files that took over 4 days to download. My question is how do i backup these files so i don't have to re-download them. please help

This depends on whether you upgraded over the internet or downloaded the network service pack update. Windows seems to not make it too easy to re-apply updates without downloading them again unless the network update has been applied.
Check point backups can be made before and after applying service packs. If you maintain an ongoing backup of Windows then a backup should be taken before and after the service packs and other updates are applied, indeed it is a good idea to batch the updates just in case one of the updates causes the PC to malfunction (this happened to us).
