Thanks for the help, I will check out those websites.
Sorry about the bounced mail. The last email I got from you was apparently in January 2007. That email address is still good:
johnjill@toast.net. What address were you sending to?
Thanks again.

Barry, I appreciate your long answer, but...WOW!... I've read it over and over, and I'm so confused. I'm not sure where you're talking about a future version of AISB and where you're talking about the current version. The only part I'm really sure about is where you're talking about my SATA drive. T...

Restore didn't work; no MS recovery console

Hello, folks. I had a crash the other day, and attempted to use AISB to restore my system to an earlier date. It was a total disaster, and I'm pretty sure that AISB is not to blame, but I'm not having any luck finding a solution to my problem anywhere else, so I was hoping that someone here could he...

looks like it's fixed

Well, Barry, it looks like you got it. I tried the easy stuff first, of course: new version of AISB, disable Norton AV, and they didn't change anything. When I disabled "re-boot on system error," the blue error screen said something about hardware improperly installed, and that seemed to m...

reboots while trying to backup opened exclusive files

I've been using version 2.3.1.298 on WinXP sp2, with an 80GB Maxtor EIDE hard drive as my system drive, and having no problems of any kind. A few days ago, I installed a new hard drive, a 500GB SATA Seagate. I used Seagate Diskwizard (Acronis TrueImage) to clone my old boot partition to the new hard...

Hi, Barry. I "borrowed" a new drive from Office Depot for $60 :D and everything seems to work fine now. Very strange, because my original drive still does everything else, it just won't write backups! I have a question that I don't think is related, but I'm not sure, so I'll ask it here. O...

suddenly can't backup to DVDs

I've been doing backups to DVD for about a year now. I was running a backup session a couple days ago, and the disk write portion was finished, verify was in progress, and everything was fine. Suddenly I started getting all these "fail" messages. Out of about 4000 files, 900+ failed to ver...

Oooooh, yeah! (Imagine a picture of me smacking myself in the forehead with my hand.) Individual emails are not individual files!
Sorry about that.

Thanks

Why is every backup of a huge file "huge?"

Hi, Barry. I'm using 2.0.0.236, on WinXP SP2, backing up to a different physical drive (local drive). I run session-based backups every 2 days, saving all sessions. My email file (Thunderbird inbox) is a huge file, it's true, but it doesn't seem like there would be huge amount of new data every back...

ZIPDLL.DLL error messages

I did another backup to CD today, and I got the error messages again, immediately, then the backup proceeded as if nothing were wrong. The message says " Fatal error in ZIPDLL.DLL: abort exception." It rolled a few of those, and then the backup seemed to go fine. I considered re-installing...

ZIPDLL.DLL errror messages

Hi, Barry. I was doing a backup to CD using 1.0.5.139, and while it was in the backup phase, there were several error messages that appeared in the log window. I can't tell you the exact message, because when the update finished and I looked at the log, they weren't there. But they were something li...
