Column Widths

The column widths are not being remembered on the main screen showing all jobs (maybe on other screens as well, I don't know).

DVD Writing Problem

A weird problem has started up when writing to DVD's when the data spans more than one disk. I have tried backing up some of my data using several different backup programs, but each either fails on testing the second disk (which always seems to be blank) or refuses to recognise the second disk when...

Problem job

A strange problem has occurred. One of my backup jobs refuses to auto run either directly through AIS backup or through Windows task manager if set to run at startup. However, the job will run at a set time using the Windows task manager. All the other jobs run automatically once a day on computer b...

Hi Barry

Yes, I do use the prune option, but I still can't see how you can actually set a maximum limit for a backup size. It may be there, but it's not obvious (at least, not to me).

Hi Barry It would be great to have some options like these on a per-job basis and also the option to automatically reset the backup and perform a new full backup once the specified criteria had been met. Perhaps you could have a look at Backup4All and see what you think about how they handle these i...

Limiting backup size

Is it possible to set an overall limit for the size of a backup? I store my backups on both an external hard drive and DVDs. I want to be able to set a limit as to how much of the external hard drive AIS backups are allowed to occupy. I noticed that some backup programs such as Backup4All allow the ...

Return of an old problem: testing backup requires restart

I have recently taken delivery of the new PC running Windows Vista Home Premium. I am finding that I'm getting a problem I have had several times previously inasmuch as AIS Backup fails on the test phase when backing up to disc and I have to close down AIS Backup and then restart it to run the test ...

Actually, it does appear to be affecting all my backups. Also, if I carry out a backup manually, rather than using the autorun feature, I don't get this problem.

Return of problem: Failure to read disc before testing phase

I have recently loaded build 295 onto my office PC and whether it is coincidence or not I don't know, but I am one again receiving an error message after a backup runs to the effect that the disc cannot be accessed. However, after hitting retry, it does carry on with the testing phase as normal (whe...

Complete Restore

I have purchased a USB External Hard Drive (320GB) to backup up my PC files. Question, if I use Paragon Exact Image (http://www.exact-image.com/) to create a disc snapshot say once a month and run a daily backup of C: Drive using AIS Backup, would I be able to restore my PC (in the event of a major ...

Hi Barry

No idea about that. I seem to remember trying Roxio at home and not liking it, so I don't know much about it.

What about the formatting issue - is it just a +RW feature that results in my having to preformat the discs I want to use? I don't have to do this with my -RW DVD's at home.

I've located and removed Roxio from my PC and that has solved the problem.

Problems with new PC / DVD+RW's

I have just had a replacement PC at work, which is running Windows XP Pro, rather than Windows 2000 as before. I sent an order for some DVD-RW's but the supplier sent DVD+RW's instead. Whether this is the reason for my problems I don't know, but the following has happened this morning when I tried t...
