Thank you Barry for the fast response I purchased a 1.5TB Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk external HD and did my 1st complete backup. All went fine but have the following questions: 1. Backup to Extrnal HD

I plan to buy an external USB hard disk to be used as a disaster recovery for my Dell Inspiron Laptop. I have the 2.9 (400) AISB version and I run Vista Home Premium. I read the “Making a backup job and preparing for disaster recovery” tutorial and all is clear to me but have the following questions...

MS System Info

When I do a backup, under the window "AISB Auto Select Files" there is an entry for "MS system Restore Information"

I run Vista Home Premium and would like to know what this entry is for and if I should include it in my backup

Writing Lead Out

This is the first time I do a backup with version 2.9(400) for my Vista Home Premium on my DELL Laptop 6400 and I think? it failed. I made a Windows System backup including the Program Files folder and AISbackup made 4 DVD but on the last DVD and during the "writing lead out" it went on an...

Sorry Barry for my ignorance but the restore DVD I created does not seems to have AISBackup. Do you mean that I will start AISBackup from my hard drive?

If my HD is crashed how do I start AISBackup to do restore from my backup DVD’s?

Thanks

Restore CD with AISBackup 2.7

I try today my 1st restore and AISBackup 2.7 created the file "AISBackupRestoreCD.iso" which has 190956 KB. It seems that I have no choice as to what files should be included on my restore CD / DVD. I thought that I would have the option to choose my files besides the Vista system files. W...

Perhaps other Forum Members may find the following of interest. My mobo has 4 Primary SATA Ports (Red) and 2 Ports which are black. I had pluged my SATA DVD+/-RW to a black port. Reading on ASUS forums I learned that a SATA device can be pluged to either red or black ports whereas an IDE device shou...

Trying to get AISBackup (2.5, 309) working on my new system, this is what I discover today (As I mentioned earlier, I have 1 SATA 250GB HD, and 2 IDE HD’s + my DVD+/-RW is SATA). My BIOS SATA configuration settings has 3 options: IDE, AHCI & RAID. If I set it to AHCI or RAID, AISBackup does not ...
