Access Violation error: build 368

I set AISB to remove MS Exclusions and ticked the Backup Microsoft Exclusions box. I hope that's the way to actually backup the exclusions! I noticed that I got the error message: 21:12:17 START AISBackup started: 30 March 2010 21:12:17 21:12:45 EXCEPTION Exception: EAccessViolation: Access violatio...

Re: Exception error

Further to my post about an exception error, I have now upgraded to the latest build of version 2.8. I notice that AIS backup now "honours" Microsoft exclusions and, as the backup file list was building up, reference to "attributes only" (or something like this). Never seen that ...

Exception error

I don't often "look for problems" but just happened to glance at today's summary log and found: 21:19:07 START AISBackup started: 18 February 2010 21:19:00 (snipped) 21:26:15 SESSEND Backup Session Ended: 18 February 2010 21:26:15 21:37:11 EXCEPTION Exception: EAccessViolation: Access viol...

That's what I thought it should do. My last standalone registry backup was to the 'Registry' folder on my external HDD. I've just opened AIS Backup now, selected Tools/Backup Registry and it wants to save to C:\Documents and Settings\...\AISBackup\Regbackup. This happens every time. My "normal&...

Default target for registry standalone backups

Using Tools/Backup Registry sends the backup zip file to the Regbackup folder on the computer's hdd by default. I want to back it up to my external device. Is there any way to change the default target (to avoid having to choose it manually each time)?

Build 331 not available for download?

Routinely going to Help>Check for upgrade suggests that V 2.7 build 331 (Nov 28th) is available, but it doesn't appear on the web site. Has it been pulled?

Copying files to NAS drive

I've been trying to use the "file copy" method to copy files to an NAS drive. It's something I've been doing routinely with a program called "File Boss" When I try to do it with AISBackup, as soon as I try starting the copy I get a string of error messages like "Could not cr...

I did restore a registry, but on my laptop with only one HDD (I have the "home use license"). On my desktop PC with two HDD's (C and F) I've just seen this again while backing up the registry - entries like: Backing up: F:\Documents and Settings\Local Service\NTUSER.DAT and many others wit...

AISBackup seems to backup registry from wrong disc?

Trying to solve another issue (see previous thread) I came across an "oddity". My PC has two fixed HDD's (C and F) and I back up to an external HDD. When it comes to backing up the registry files, it seems to be backing them from the F drive rather than C! At least that's what I see in the...

Re: Backup Job could not be loaded

So why is it greyed out in the AIS window? I've got a bit further with this. I pasted the .bdb file from the backup media into the AIS database folder in Documents and Settings (the one there was very obviously the corrupted one) and all is restored (pun not intended :) ) to normal. However the des...

Re: Backup Job could not be loaded

This is reminiscent of a problem I have reported before... How do I get my valuable data back - unfortunately I had deleted the original source files? An update: I did a "repair" by trying to follow Barry's suggestion (though I didn't fully undrstand it). Basically I added the extra zip f...
