Problems using (QNAP) NAS as source volume with Visa (x86)
Barry, It took a while but last friday I bought a QNAP TS-109 Pro II NAS server. At this moment I moved most of the idle data to the shares. Using AISBackup I noticed the following errors/behaviour: Situation: NAS (source) and PC (backup target) on Gbit LAN with MTU 1500. 1) backup failed because fo...

Define AISBackup as an automatic service (local system)
Barry,
Isn't it the time to run AISBAckup as an automatic service (logon as local system) controlled by a GUI in the same way as Diskeeper, Acronis, etc does? On the long run it probably could make things easier.

Scheduled backup not terminating if drive not connected
Barry, I could see that you were testing on Sunday because I got all the output mailed. I tested 3.14 on Vista x64 and the problem looks solved. With the backup drive disconnected all the jobs results in 0x0 and the following output: AISBackup job: Backup xxx Files Backup completed with errors (Exte...

Scheduled backup not terminating if drive not connected
Barry,
The jobs are scheduled for each half hour from 18:00h until 22:00h. The jobs run well when the drive is connected. I send you this evening the .buz files.

Abort if external drive not connected
Barry, The task scheduler under Vista is a complete new design. Therefor I think that XP is not usable for testing. I get the following e-mail (only one) after a long period: (although there are 8 schedules) AISBackup job: Backup Installation Files Backup completed successfully 20:00:03 SSTART Backu...

Vista x86: "Quietly" option for scheduled jobs doe
Barry,
The "Quietly abort if media not loaded (but only when scheduled)" option does not result in a termination of the scheduled job. A manual end is necessary.
I use a external drive which is not allways up. At that time the schedules may be bypassed.

Bart Kamminga

Vista x64: VSS not supported by 32-bit requestors
Barry,
All do VSS is enabled, it seems thats it is not working. I found out that
32 bit requestors won't work with 64 bit VSS services.
What is your experience?

Restore & backup Vista partitions
Barry,
Because I had to go on, I decided to try a full restore of Vista from a Windows XP installation. I was a little bit surprised but very happy that the restore was 100% successfull. You delivered a great job.
During so many years AISBackup never let me off.

Vista Task Scheduler
Barry, I use version 2.4 (303) and defining schedules with the Vista Task Scheduler goes well. The tasks run under a special backup user with password. When configured for Vista the task starts and is active but nothing happens. Configured for Windows 2003, XP or 2000 everything works well. Bart Kam...

Task Scheduler Jobs
Baryy, The username/password error also occures consequently within several Windows XP Professional SP2 (UK or NL) installations. It never succeeds. I think that this problem is related to ASBackup. Restore & backup Vista partitions
Barry, I've got a problem with the XML task under Vista and therefor I like to restore a previous level. What is the best way to do that? Normally I do this from a multi-boot installation. But I see several problems to restore Vista from a XP partition. What do I do with the virtual folders for inst...

Issues after restoring a complete multi-boot XP config
