I would install a copy in the Windows 7 partition, same PC no new license required.

Partitions
Each operating system should be installed in its own partition, never in a shared partition. There are too many folder differences for operating systems to co-exist in one partition. Why don't you consider running XP in a virtual PC using something like Oracle Virtual PC? This way you can have XP ru...

NTFS settings
The NTFS settings box is disabled if there has been a backup run (even if nothing was backed up). Try resetting the backup then you should be able to disable the NTFS option (Manage Backup / Reset Backup).
If this works I will have to implement an automated work-around.

Accessing Samba shares
Do backups from Windows work to \\harrrier\iosafe? Do backups from \\storm\scholl work to a local disk on Windows (actually I guess not)? Also: Do not backup up NTFS security setting from Linux as there aren't any - actually this may be the solution!! ( Manage Backup / Change Backup Job Settings ) H...

Upgrade yes or No
Yes please upgrade because there are often bug fixes. AISBackup still even supports NT4, Windows 98 and Windows ME in the latest release. Unfortunately we can no longer test with Windows 95 (but it may still work). Backups of data made on any Windows system with any old version of AISBackup (from th...

Password protected NAS shares
Shares on some NAS may be protected with username and password with different access rights if required. Bear in mind that Windows can only connect with one username at a time so multiple usernames on NAS (or any network device) may be counter productive. Have you tried re-booting since the update w...

Parameter 87 error
Does the NAS support FTP? This could be another backup option, i.e. backup to FTP instead of network drive. However, I would rather have a go at solving this problem first. It seems that AISBackup is able to create files on the NAS but not the initial test file; most odd. Do you have some shares on ...

Please download the latest pre-release version of AISBackup as some work has been done in the network part; however not specifically for this problem so the problem may persist. If the problem is still there I would like you to try the following as the fault may be caused by UAC (non admin and admin...

Run as administrator icons
The run as administrator icons only show if AISBackup is not running as an administrator. When a job is started from a restricted non administrator account AISBackup restarts as an administrator and the is why the icons change.

Windows sleeping during backup
The next version will disable Windows sleep and hibernate during backup, copy and restore. I have already tested in backup in both UAC and administrator mode. Perhaps I could make a copy available to you for pre-release testing. The sleep will kick in after the backup phase completes but not necessa...

Wrong burn date mastered discs
The backup file .buz contains the date of last backup. In a 'Mastered' CD, DVD or Blue-ray backup the contents of the disc must be made before the backup finishes, hence the previous last run date. I guess we should make a temporary .buz file for the 'burn' process that assumes the backup has worked...
