copying existing AISB to new OS
Hi Barry. I've been using AISB on Windows 7 and have now installed Win8 in a dual-boot configuration on a second hard drive. I want to be able to keep all my backup jobs when I install AISB in win8 on the second hd. (Basically, I want to just pick up all of AISB as a unit and copy it to the new OS o...

Re: Excluding cache folders
Okay, I'll give this a try and see how it does. Alternatively navigate to the cache folders, right click the folder and choose Exclude Files and Sub Folders . This is the way I've done it in the past, and boy, that's a never-ending task! That's why I decided I had to find a way to automate things. :...

exclusions
Hi Barry. I'm not really familiar with the various symbols used to create file exclusions, and the help files gave some specific examples but didn't seem to address my need exactly. Can you tell me how to exclude any file from any drive that includes the term "cache" somewhere in the file ...

First backup of Windows 10
I just did my first backup of Windows 10 Home version, 64 bit. I used the "canned" backup job for the whole C: partition, using version 3.3.0.441. Backed up to an external HD. I was shocked to find 130 files that couldn't be backed up. I'm pretty sure they all say Opened Exclusive File Sup...

backup source is default excluded
I didn't know how else to describe this. I set up a new job with which I wanted to backup certain files from the G: partition on my local HD. When I went to "modify files and folders list" I found the G: partition and all its files with red x's in the selection boxes. No matter what I do I...

Is the test that runs automatically at the end of a backup the same as what runs if you click Manage backup>Validate (test) backup ?
Thanks

The drive will actually be used on only one computer, but with several different jobs, such as one for the whole system, another just for photos, etc. So the way I envision it working is this: Scenario 1: Total system crash, either hardware or software, I can boot up from the external HD, restore th...
