Growing backup!
As regular backups are made to a CR-RW, the available space on the disc gets smaller and smaller. Eventually I find that I have to erase the disc, reset the backup and start the whole process from the beginning. That's not much of a problem if the backup only occupies one disc, but for larger backup...

Deleting backups
I note that the method of deleting backups has changed with the latest build (the delete option seems to have been replaced with "remove backup from list"). What is the procedure now for completely deleting a backup?

Restore from system rebuild
If I were to create a backup of my registry, plus all the files contained in the Program Files folders, would I be able to restore my complete system from scratch by 1) re-installing the operating system and 2) restoring all the files saved by the Ais Backup described above? If not, what would be th...

Re: CD writer speed
Hi Brian Run the job manually under the auto-run account and select the desired write speed. The problem probably started after upgrading to version 1.9.1 as this holds the speed as KB/Sec rather than x times. An old value of 16 times (for example) would cause the slowest speed to be set. Barry Tha...

Re: Exclusion Exceptions
Hi Release 1.9.1 enables excluded files to be selected for backup. This is implemented for global exclusions and job based exclusions. There is no pictorial indication of these exceptions in the folder view as this would require a lot more time. The filenames may be viewed, however, from the View /...

Logs
I would like to see some of the log files combined into one to make things simpler. At the moment, if you don't look at the logs very often, it is difficult to remember what information is contained in each. A full-screen log of all the relevant data would be a big improvement (IMHO of course), espe...

Re: Excluded files override
Hi Brian Now that the major changes made in version 1.9 have been released we will look at this option. We did not want to make too many changes to the select file interface following the unicode file name changes. We will probably implement this as a left click toggle between Selected and Excluded...

This subject of files selection can get quite complicated because different people want different things. For instance, to simplify my backups, I may decide that in almost all circumstances I don't want to back up .exe files. Then, I find that with one particular new folder added to the backup, I ne...
