Moving a backup staging area
Hi We have identified this as a problem, so please DO NOT try this option. We will produce a fix and e-mail everybody who has registered AISBackup with us as soon as possible. Please note that the Manage Backup / Change Backup Destination functions correctly for all other backup types. If you wish t...

AISBackup staging area
Hi Tim AISBackup totally clears the staging area prior to backup as only files that belong to the current backup script (job) should be using this folder. In your case only files from folder C:\Incoming\Backup should have been deleted and not C:\Incoming, please send me the <script>.buz file so that...

DVD+RW
Hi Johannes We are looking into why this is not working, this is what we have found so far: We have tested a Ricoh MP5120A with AISBackup and this works okay with DVD+RW but only when using the packet writing system (DirectCD). I tried using Easy CD Creator, which creates CD’s and DVD’s in the same ...

CD writer and huge files
Hi Tim Try a lower burn speed, see if that make a difference. I notice different behaviour between different drives. If you like to carry on working while you are burning CD’s the PC will be more responsive if you use a lower burn speed. In the current version of AISBackup we do not encrypt these hu...

Running multiple scripts
Hi Unfortunately the inclusions / exclusions are per script; we will probably change this in a future release. You can however set up multiple scripts and run them one after each other using a desktop icon for the set. The command line may be generated via the Tools / Auto Running AISBackup menu opt...

Network Password
Hi There is a problem when a password protected network drive has been used. If you map the drive before AISBackup is run you should be okay, if not send us the script files using the Help / Debug screen and we will repair the files for you. If you have time we will create a separate fix program tha...

Hi Ron Q1: We ask for the name of the packet writing system so that we can give messages such as ‘Please load a CD that has been formatted for < Packet Writing System Name >’, i.e. this is just for documentation. Unfortunately we did not detect PacketCD correctly, a new version of AISBackup with thi...

CD Writer Failing
Hi Martin Are you able to create CD’s using the CD Mastering software that came with the CD Writer? There is an option in AISBackup that enables you to create the backup CD’s using a third party CD Mastering software. To switch between the AISBackup CD Writer and a third party CD Writer use the menu...

Compression and Backing up Everything
Hi Tim If you turn off compression the files are still stored in zip files. AISBackup maintains a list of file types that it does not compress, these include WAV, AVI, CAB amongst others. Please see the menu option Tools / Do Not Compress File List . You can manually force a full backup by using the...

Unfortunately the ‘Use Loaded CD’ button does not work as it is supposed to. This has been fixed and uploaded as AISBackup.zip. This file only contains AISBackup.exe and is not a full install. Please replace the existing copy of C:\Program Files\Aquarius IS Consultancy\AISBackup\AISBackup.exe with t...

CD Speed
This has been altered to remember the last speed selected by the User rather than the last speed used by the CD Writer (this could be < selected if the media cannot be used with the selected speed).

Network drives
Hi Markus I have uploaded a version of AISBackup with the following updates: Backup with missing network share now works. Remembers last CD speed selected rather than last speed actually used - different for CD-R and CD-RW. The display file prior to backup has not been added yet. http://www.aiscl.co...

File Deleted from Backup
Hi Mike There are two methods of backup: 1. Session Based 2. Generation Based If you retain ALL Sessions / Generations they behave the same and no files are deleted from the backup at all (Unless you re-use a CD or physically delete one or more zip files from the backup destination). If you are reta...
