The disk naming and erase options are present if you use the integrated CD Writer instead of the packet writing system. The auto-naming is also a feature of this option.
You may create a new script based on the existing script which may help if the existing script is quite complex.

Automated Erase
I'm sorry but the automated erase was going to be put n but we though this may be a dangerous feature to add. Can you pre-erase a batch of CDs? and change them daily? This way you'll still have prior backups in case something goes wrong. Do you agree with us or would you still prefer an automatic er...

Hi Jim This answer is based on version 1.6.3 of AISBackup. If you are backing up to a network drive, or move an existing backup manually, just load the script and click Run Backup . AISBackup will display a ‘Find Backup Destination’ form, select Locate Backup and open any one of the backup ‘zip’ fil...

Excluded Files
Hi The only way to see the excluded files is via Manage Backup / Add or Remove Files from the Script . Navigate to the folder then look for a file icon that has been crossed out. Sorting the files by file type may help (click the file type column header) A list of excluded folder and file types if s...

AISBackup Opened Exclusive files
Hi Danny There are not that many ‘Opened Exclusive’ files on Windows 95. 98 & ME. Some programs may not open files that are already ‘open’ (but not ‘exclusively open’) the program must set the file sharing parameter appropriately. AISBackup copies opened exclusive files from FAT disk systems by ...

CD Writer Speed and Problems
Hi Margaret The following is based on using version 1.6.3 of AISBackup, which I guess you are already using. Setting up a script using option 3, Using a third party CD writer, does write the backup to disk and then wait for you to create the CD yourself, although you may still create the CD using th...

Hi The AISBackup bug report option can only work with MAPI compliant e-mail systems. If you use Outlook or Outlook Express the Send option should work okay. Will you try this again please? Loading problem Blank CD
Hi Chris There is a problem when AISBackup asks for the last CD used, this is loaded and is too full. AISBackup then asks for a blank CD and loops saying there is not enough room. Is this your problem? The work around is to load a blank CD instead of the last CD used. This fault will be fixed in the...

Continue on DVD-R
Hi Chris If the CD backup was using a packet writing system then you can continue on the DVD+R as long as this is supported by your packet writing system, DVD+RW is supported by Roxio and Ahead. Backing up the registry (or not)
Hi Howard If you select files that cannot be backed up AISBackup will just not back them up and report this fact. The next release of AISBackup can backup the Registry from NTFS disks, so you may not want to exclude the Registry after all. Would you (or anybody else) like to help test this? AISBacku...

Backup frequency
Hi Dolph There is no reason why a backup to CD-R or other 'write once' media should not be appended to forever. The only down side is the Backup Contents File will take longer to load as it grows. Other reasons why you may want to restart a backup are: You want to store the existing backup off site....
