Hi Barry
Sorry -- it hung. The number at the top right hand corner of the splash screen is 5.
Cheers
Hugh

Build 317 hangs on launch
Barry -- I've just installed build 317 and when I try to launch it, it gets as far as the splash screen and shows the main window behind the splash screen, but freezes at that point and I have to use the Windows task manager to shut it down. Rebooting doesn't help. I've gone back to build 314 for th...

Single launch shortcut
Hi Barry Many of the upgrades create a new launch shortcut ("AISBackup 2.3", "AISBackup 2.4", etc) which clutters up the Start menu. Would it be possible to go to a more standard approach, for instance a shortcut simply labelled "AISBackup", so that there's only one sho...

OK, I've had a look. It works fine provided there aren't too many files to back up; it doesn't make any difference whether it's passive or not, and the firewalls seem to be letting through what they're supposed to let through. If there are about 1500 or so files, it works fine, but if it's the full ...

Yes, I sent it yesterday. I've re-sent it just now. You haven't changed your customer service e-mail address, have you? I too did the restart-and-reset thing several times. I had the same unreproducibility problem that you did. Most of the time it didn't try to send, but once or twice when it did it...

Another FTP problem?
Hi Barry I've just had to reinstall AISBackup, having done a clean OS (WinXP) reinstall on the machine in question. It has a particularly critical database which I back up to more than one place. It backs up to a local USB drive with no problem, but since the OS reinstall I can't get the FTP backup ...

Pruning advanced session management
I've just had to change my advanced session management settings for one of my backup jobs, to reduce the number of daily, weekly and monthly sessions retained (the backup was just too big). I couldn't find a way of getting AISBackup to prune the existing backups so that all the jobs that were no lon...

No worries. Actually, my system seemed to settle down after its initial eccentricities (I'm running Vista Business), and now it seems to copy the files it needs to regardless of whether UAC is on or off. Sorry I forgot to report that here. One oddity I noticed, though: if you go to Tools > Show MS S...

Thanks, Barry -- the drag and drop method worked find. Two more Vista-related questions: 1. Is there any reason why full backups of C drives can't use advanced sessions (i.e. keeping a specified number of daily sessions, a specified number of weekly sessions, etc)? It's just that the instructions fo...
