Copying files
I have a mass-storage device (Sat Nav) that occasionally needs certain files updating from the Internet. I have a program called Timely Web to check for the Internet updates and to download them automatically. I thought I could create an AIS backup job to transfer the downloaded files to my device, ...

Misreported backup size
Still problems with some autorunning backups indicating backup size way in excess of the actual value (perhaps by a factor of a hundred or so).

Re: Posting images
Actually you can post images hosted on public servers I should have thought of that. It's that method I have used to enable me to have an Avatar on some other forums. If you go here you'll see what I use: http://www.valencia.plus.com/Sunset02.gif It's located on my own personal Web space at my ISP....

Logs
For simplicity, could all the logs be available on tabs, rather than on the drop-down menu (it's much easier to switch from one to another in that way). Also, could there be a tab that shows all logs combined into one report and one that copies either the current displayed log or all logs (a tickbox...

Microsoft Recovery Console
For info/interest only:- After having had a problem with my PC a few months ago, I thought I would use AIS Backup to install the Microsoft Recovery Console. That worked fine, but when I came to try to use it, I hit a problem - my password would not be accepted. I found an article on the Microsoft We...

Re: Disc writer problem
Carlos: Thank you for the feedback :D Brian: We are working on a solution for the Windows 2000 problem, this is quite a major re-write and is likely to take a few weeks. We may have an interim solution which just skips the validate phase until AISBackup is restarted - this is a better solution than...

Re: Clues?
Which ASPI driver are you using with AISBackup? Which Service pack for Windows 2000? As I mentioned in an earlier post the BinaryMagics ASPI driver works here, Help / About shows which ASPI driver is been used. The bug report option from version 2.0 provides us with the information we require. Carl...

I have started getting this problem again on my office PC (running Windows 2000). At first I thought it was just a damaged CD, but a new disc gave me the same problems. I managed to execute the backup eventually, after much trial and error, but this problem is a pain because it always seems to strik...

Hi Barry If I understand correctly what you say, then the AT option wouldn't work on my office PC as most of the files that I back up each morning are located on the Council's main server (although they back up all their files every night, I prefer to have a local backup of things I have created for...
