Barry,
I will go and do some more checking but I was using 1.8.2.189. It seems to run OK on my other machine. Must look at it again.

I have been using AIS for quite a while now. Suddnely, using the same job, same hardware I have hit the problem shown in the attached log file extract. The same job but sent to a hard drive works fine. I have noted the forum discussion on the matter but there doesn't seem to be a resolution. Is ther...

Closing down applications on OTHER machines in the network
Can I add my tuppeny worth here? Is it possible to add the ability to shiut down apps on other machines in a network? That might be a bit 'dodgy' but, running AIS to back up files on other machine sin the network can hit the same locked file oroblem. It would be useful to be able to select and shut ...

New CD Driver has fixed the problem
I have downloaded the latest Roxio CD drivers (5.3.4.21). That seems to have fixed the problem. I am left with one oddity. The backup appears to have run OK - the CD was ejected etc - but I was presented with this text. Any idea why and what it signifies? AISBackup Finished: 5/04/2003 8:09:06 PM Scr...

Further information
I thought that thsi best fit a new post, rather than a reply since the problem no longer fits the original title. Looking at the log, I see that the failure seemed to be on one set of files - a database from Microsoft Visual source Safe. There are other files on the disk that seem to have run OK. I ...

Removing volumes
Hi Barry, Thanks for the reply - will keep my eye out for later versions. The remove volumes tip is useful - at least that doesn't force one into prematurely starting a new set from scratch. A question/suggestion/request - is there a more detailed 'technical' manual around? I have the Chapter 1 - In...

Run from scheduler while not logged on
I have AIS scheduled to run of an evening, unattended. All works fine except, it appears, if I don't leave the PC logged on. (I am using windows XP with a password protected account). This morning, the CD was not ejected (as it usually is). I logged on, tried to run AIS - assuming it had not run whi...

I will try the Beta question.
Hi Barry, I am pretty sure that the problem arose when running from the desk top. I am sure that it followed a scheduled backup run overnight (Australian time - wonder if that is significant :) ) which hung. The closing screens were visible but there was no activivity. I had to crash AIS and manuall...
