Re: Transferred folder
Hi Barry I've just noticed that the folder is full of files that are all two years old, so they can't have been involved in recent backups. I renamed the folder and tried a backup; it worked, and AISBackup didn't create a new Transferred folder. So I'm guessing that it's some oddity of an earlier ba...

Transferred folder
I have a backup to an SFTP server. On my local machine (the machine that is backed up) there is a folder called "Transferred" which has over 400 GB of data in it. Is it necessary to keep the contents of this folder, or can it safely be deleted?

Re: Long backup misbehaving
Hi Barry
I could, if I knew which file it was that's causing the trouble. All I have is the .ail file. Is there a way of finding out which file that comes from?

Re: Long backup misbehaving
Hi Barry I tried reducing the split to 512MB and ran it again. I attach the log below. There are a lot of ftp errors, but after it reset the ftp system it started uploading a file "Democritus to Tollkeepers_00014_000.AIL" The File Progress went to 100%, then the Upload Progress did the sam...

Long backup misbehaving
I'm backing up some large files to a remote sftp server. The backup starts fine, but when it gets to the large files (4GB) it seems to get stuck. It shows the SFTP link as active, but the Upload Progress bar is at 100% and it seems to stay like this for days. The file appears to have been transferre...

How to thin overgrown backup set
Hi Barry -- my main backup set has got way too big, and I need to thin it out. I use Advanced Session Management (7 daily, 5 weekly, 25 monthly, retain none made on or just after these dates), but there are zip files that go back to 2014 despite that. Is there a way of doing a fresh "thinning&q...

Hi Barry
Can AISBackup handle sftp yet? If not, do you have any plans for it?

Re: Update failure
Hi Barry
In my case I was running in 64-bit Windows, not as administrator, so I guess there must be something different about my configuration. Next time I see a request to update, I'll restart as administrator and see how it goes. As you say, it's no big deal to reinstall if that fails.

Update failure
Hi Barry Something weird just happened when I allowed AISBackup to upgrade to 5.4.0.494. It went through a number of steps, and then the main window appeared minus the backup jobs. I exited from the program and tried to re-launch, but it had disappeared from the Start menu, nor could I see it in Pro...

Re: Restore problem: not finding aibrecover files
Sorry -- please ignore that posting. I hadn't set up a "Restore Only" job for that backup set. Now that I have, restores are working as they should.

Restore problem: not finding aibrecover files
I'm trying to restore some files from a NAS device (Drobo5N) to a different computer, because the original machine is temporarily unavailable. I'm able to locate the backup files on the NAS device and select the ones I want, but when I start the restore process I get a series of messages of the foll...
