Hi Barry, Hmm, I have no idea why that log was not up to date, yes, it was LifebookC. Anyway, an easy question you may be able to answer... the LifebookC job does not close down Outlook (as new jobs I have now made to specifically back up important stuff appear to do). Is it possible to persuade it ...

failed restore

Hi Barry My laptop is in trouble so I am having to get my head around aisbkp again. I am using build 236 on XP Home and am backing up and restoring over a wireless network. The last backup I made was 26th March, when making that backup I decided to try the pruning feature and asked it to prune to la...

ESB over two CDs?

Hi Barry,

Apologies for what I'm sure must be an old chestnut, but my ESB backup as selected by AIS is well over 1gb. Can I span it over two CDs? This is to backup Windows ME.

All the best, Chris

OK, I've moved them back to C and all looks normal. Can I regard this backup as safe now, if it is called upon?

Many thanks, Chris

Hi Barry, Sorry for the delay, I have been moving house. I've now installed 1.9.2 and when I ran the backup job we have been discussing I got a message <12558 invalid file names removed...> I did the backup and it backed up 700 or so files. I then ran Validate Backup and no errors were reported (I d...

Fixed, but now another one

Hi Barry, Thanks for your response. 1.9.1 successfully recognised the files already backed up so that's fine now. I just went to Restore Files to check all was well and I cannot open the tree. I just see the job name with a plus next to it and no amount of clicking does anything. If I select a sessi...

Backup Contents File created in newer version

Hello Barry, I am having some trouble with when I try to load a backup job made to a networked computer. I get a message The Backup Contents File was created ina newer version of Aisbackup. Do you want to create a new backup of this data? I got this yesterday and clicked on yes at which point I had ...

Thanks, Barry.

Its OK now - i had to system restore anyway because inCD stopped working properly. Having done this, when I put the blank CD in it still complained, but then I restarted the backup and it was OK - I think that's the fault you refer to. Anyway, all is well now. Chris

Hi Barry,

And if I start a new backup set - will that work on DVD+RW using the AIS writer?

I had some trouble transferring large files back and forth to DVD+RW using DirectCD and so have InCD installed at the moment. Best option seems to me to be to use your writer if possible.

Best wishes, Chris

Ricoh 5125

I also have a Ricoh 5125. It has taken over from my old CD-RW seamlessly as far as writing to CD-R with AIS writer is concerned. But I would like to know if I can use a DVD+R as the next disc in my backup set and continue as before (though with fewer disc changes :) ). This thread would suggest not,...
