I've installed the beta and it all seems to be working fine now. :) It didn't ask me what speed to burn at (perhaps because I already had a blank CD in the drive when I started the backup?) so it's currently backing up at 4x instead of 32x, but that's a minor point - it's burning, which is the main ...

That's great - many thanks for checking this out! Very few companies would have taken the time to actually try installing something to see if it caused a clash, I'm very impressed. :)

Cheers,

Tmi.

AISBackup won't write CD

Hi, AIS Backup is refusing to write CDs - when I put a new (blank) CD into the drive, it just loops back to the "insert CD" screen. The only thing I can think of that might have messed up the system settings (since this used to work fine) is that I've installed Alcohol 120% (http://www.alc...

Ah... so it's a bug? Heh... at least this was a fairly harmless way to discover it. :)

Cheers,

I've just been testing this again (with a certain amount of trepidation, obviously!) and it's repeatable, at least on my system. Here's a quick test: 1. Create a test folder on C: - eg C:\TestFolder 2. Create some junk files and folders within that folder - ie C:\TestFolder\Test1, C:\TestFolder\Test...

Hi, thanks for replying. I'll send you the .buz file when I get home - I'm at work at the moment. Relating to the various points below... I changed the staging area to C:\Incoming\Backup - but one of the directories deleted was C:\Incoming\Downloads, for example. ie - it looks as though the parent d...

AAAARRRGGGG! AIS Backup deleting files?

Hi, I just had something astoundingly annoying happen - AIS Backup deleted a bunch of files without any warning. I have a standard backup script, which I set up when I purchased AIS Backup a couple of weeks ago. It worked fine the first time I ran it (as a test), butt was using C:\Backup as a stagin...

Thanks for the info. If the large files are just segements, that's fine, as I'm sure I can work out how to recombine them! I think that pretty much answers all my questions, so I'll go register now. :)

Many thanks for all your help.

Cheers,

Tim.

Okay, that's cool. I'll probably just back up those files by writing a batch file which copies them all to an unrelated folder, and then backup that folder completely as part of the usual script. I've just run my first test backup, which worked fine, but has created a couple of new questions! 1. The...

That's great, and works fine. Many thanks. Next question - is there a way to set a file mask (include or exclude) for a specific folder, or are those settings per script? IE - I'd like to be able to back up everything in folder "A", everything except "*.tmp" files in folder "...

A couple of simple questions...

Hi, I've just downloaded the AIS Backup demo, and I've got a couple of questions: 1. If I turn off all compression, are the files written to the CD viewable directly on the CD (ie - I can just copy them back off using Explorer) or do I still need to use AIS Backup to restore them? (The files I'm bac...
