I only have my new Asus K750JN laptop for 3 days now so there are a lot of subjects I don’t know about it including windows 8.1x64. I just went to the BIOS and from what I understand there is no option to boot from a DVD or USB. My BIOS is Aptio Setup Utility, 2012 American Megatrends There is a uti...

Backing up windows 8.1 system files

My Asus laptop came with no DVDs and I try to make a system bootable DVD(s). AISbackup gave me 9 choices and I have a hard time to decide which one to use. The 8th choice was “Hidden Disk drive \\\?\Volume {26f263.....} Recommended for disk recovery of data on this hidden volume. This is a Boot Volu...

Got it working again. I uninstall it, reboot, re install it, reboot, run it once, close the program and then I right click on the key file and selected Open.

Now all is ok again, thanks

Preparation for Windows 8.1

Good day I’m making preparations to install Windows 8.1 on my desktop and last night I made a successful complete C:\ backup with AISBackup to my external USB HD and was able to boot from it. The C:\ is a SATA 240 GB HD and includes XP Home plus various other utilities. I also have two other HD on t...

Image Backup

Had to re install Vista and I found the worst part of the re install was to get all the MS Updates especially Service Pack 1 & 2 which each one is about 450MB. I'm now up to 220 updates installed and more are on the way. I was told that a regular back up does not include updates but if I make an...

External USB Boot Menu

A couple weeks ago or so I used the AISB “Tools / Create AISB Restore CD or USB External Flash Drive” to make my external 1.5TB USB hard disk bootable and it did a nice job. Now at boot time I had a menu with 2 entries: Windows Vista Home Premium Seagate USB External Hard Disk The Windows Vista menu...

All is clear now Barry, much appreciated

AISB made my 1.5TB USB hard disk bootable in a few seconds + I now have a nice interface to manage my system backups if and when a disaster occurs

I tried this morning to do a restore and after booting to AISB GUI, I clicked on the restore list and there was nothing on the list.

Booting back to Vista, AISB shows the backup I did yesterday (Copy System Disk(C)).

Any reason this backup was not on the list to restore?
