Re: Transferred folder
Hi Hugh, I just checked the source code and there is no folder called 'Transferred' so I'm not sure what this is. I think the safest thing to do is do is to rename the folder to see if anything fails. Does the folder contain AISBackup files? You could also check that these files exist in the backup ...

Re: Long backup misbehaving
Hi Hugh
If you can e-mail me the backup job files by using the Help / Bug Report option I should be able to find out which file this is.

Re: Long backup misbehaving
Hi Hugh
I looks like AISBackup isn't able to replace some files on the server, this may be because of security settings or the server is holding the files open for write. Is it possible for you to make another backup job that only backs up this failing file for testing?

Re: Long backup misbehaving
Hi Hugh I just backed up a 4.3GB file to A local Synology NAS and that worked without error, the files are split at 4GB. I restored the file to another location on my PC. This may be a timeout issue: There is an option to split files at 2GB instead of the default 4GB, this may be set by using Manage...

Re: where did AISB get this folder name?
In 22 years of AISBackup this has never been reported before, and to be honest I never noticed that the select files for backup uses the 'display name' of a folder (by design) but the actual backup phase uses the real name of the folder (oops). Using the real name of the folder for the backup is a g...

Re: How to thin overgrown backup set
Hi Hugh The older zip files contain files that are still in the retained sessions that have not changed since they were backed up. You could use the Manage Backup / Validate (Test) Backup option which will tidy up the backup if there were any files removed from the backup and the ‘prune zip files’ o...

Re: Backup using a network path
Sorry for the delay answering this. I need to look into this problem some more to find out why this is happening. You should be able to restore the destination by using Manage Backup / Change Synchronise Job Settings / Destination Settings / Add Destination / Network (button). If you need help with ...

Re: Sftp?
Hi Hugh Just a quick note to let you know I have started on an SFTP over SSH interface albeit early days. At least I can logon, navigate directories and transfer files in some prototype code. I am testing using a Synology NAS locally and I have access to a remote SFTP. I intend to make this compatib...

Re: "Show Folder" missing from "Restore" file selection dialog?
Hi Jeff
This was never implemented on the file restore option, only on the 'Backup Maintenance' option. I will look at providing this option.

Re: Windows 10 Disaster Recovery
The instructions for Windows 10 are in this PDF on page 19 https://aiscl.co.uk/dl.php?p=1 An pre-used USB will be formatted, I suggest you use a new one. The USB and CD cannot be booted using an EFI booting system, many PCs can be set to use boot manager in the CMOS settings. If you have access to a...

Re: Amalgamate two backups?
Hi Chris Having the same backup job with and without a password is not a good idea, it may mean in the future that both will be unreadable. You may copy an existing backup using Windows (drag and drop) to another disk that has been added to the list of disks for that backup, when a new backup is run...

Re: Access Violation during restore - from USB recovery image
Sorry for the delay replying to this. Could you try the Tools / Edit Windows Boot menu option to see if that is able to finish the set-up of the boot menu? The restored version of Windows should be in the upper pane, if not select it from the lower pane, click Add to Manu then click Save. Do you kno...

AISBackup does not support SFTP and there are no immediate plans to use this protocol. I understand that this would be nice to have and I will do some research.
