...question 1... Rats, I was afraid you would say that. You can't fix what you can't see. OK, well the simple work-around is to separate it into two command lines running from a BAT file. ...question 2... Gotcha -- makes sense. ...question 3... Duh - I should have thought of that. Will try to remove...

Four more questions please Barry: [1] I think something changed regarding the AISB command line. We seem to have pinpointed one class of problems to command lines that ask for two backups: AISBACKUP.exe backupsetOne backupsetTwo It appears that if two sets are given like this, the first is ignored. ...

AIS network admin
So the Network Admin thing works pretty well! I can see and change all my backup operations in one place. Excellent stuff. Question: The "all computers" panel lists each instance twice: once for the direct IP connection, once for the network share connection. Is this normal? harmful? (I'll...

>>If you do not run the FTP Test does the backup (and probably more important) the restore work? << trying.... incredibly, YES Not sure what to conclude there. Anyway, I've lost confidence in this FTP server, and I'm going to try to replace it. I really want to get to version AISB version 2.8 Thanks...

FTP changed from v2.3 to v2.8 ?
It appears that from v2.3 to v2.8 something changed in the FTP feature, and I need to figure out how to make version 2.8 with my FTP server (which is a windows 2K box). There are no problems with v2.3, so my main backups are proceeding to work fine with that same FTP server. but if I attempt to upgr...

question about resolved problem
We recently had a scare -- several drives of backup data disappeared from our backup set! That is, we backup data from several drives, local and network, and most of them disappeared! They were not in *any* of the past backup sessions! It was as if the backup had always consisted of just two drives....

OK, that seemed to work. No errors. However, not much has changed in the last few hours, so there was little to back up, and nothing to prune. Maybe I'll shove a bunch of files around to stir things up and then try it again. Something to cause a lot of pruning. Hmmm.... Sadly I use IIS FTP, so the X...

suggested FTP Log file feature
I use AISB + FTP to gether the backups from various machines onto one ftp server, and it works great. I'm working on an automated log scanner, and that would be much simpler if all the log files were together in the same place as the backups themselves. besides, it sorta feels right to keep a copy o...

Restoration report
I just want to report a successful full-restoration of a win2000 SQL-server machine! Couple of glitches folks might want to be aware of: 1 - My Dell 2850 server has a raid array, and therefore can't see it's own hard drive from Recovery Console unless you provide it with a raid drivers floppy. Recom...
