Thanks Barry. I thought this to be the case, but when I try to restore from my nightly backup it asks for a password. I set up the backup so long ago that I can't remember what the password is! It's odd, because I have often restored from the backup (though not for a while) and it has never asked fo...

Hi Barry

Is there any way to recover a forgotten password from a backup job?

Cheers,

Hi Barry Darn thing actually completed successfully last night :? Probably this is because the free space on the NAS is now up to 636GB, which I guess was deemed "sufficient". I don't think the problem can be with the "Temporary Workfiles" location, because this is on the C:\ dri...

"Destination Full" but plenty of space

Hi Barry I have a backup job which is aborting every night with: ERR Destination Full ERR Free Disk Space: 508.84 MB, Uncompressed File Size: 2.45 GB (the actual sizes in the second line vary from log to log) The destination is a share on a NAS device. Windows Explorer reports that this share has a ...

Hi Barry Thanks for following up. Just to clarify - the problem was not with *running* AISBackup, but with *installing* it. I had copied all the "setup" files from my old, dead, SBS2003 server to a location on a NAS RAID drive, and I was attempting to run aisbi400.exe from there. I'm guess...

Error installing on SBS2011

I am having trouble running aisbi400 on SBS 2011. Shortly after clicking "Yes" to the UAC prompt, I get this error: ShellExecuteEx failed; code 1317, The specified account does not exist. I am guessing it is because there is no account named "Administrator" (the default setup). T...

Hi Barry Many thanks for your help. The .bdb.lfn file in the live folder and the one in the most recent backup and in the zip file were all 0 bytes. I have restored the one from the penultimate backup (2997 bytes), ignoring the dire warnings about restoring database files. :? (Note that most of the ...

Backup failure - corrupt database files?

Hi Barry My nightly backup has recently been failing with lots of pretty red lines in the log file, a sample of which is below. I tried renaming the .bdb.hist.fld file and on the next run I only got the error you see at 01:27:10 ( Zeus.bdb.lfn is not a valid split file directory ). However, the next...

Ah! thank you, Barry. I will give that a go. I'm sure it will meet my requirements :)

As a feature enhancement though, what do you think of the idea of changing the subject line for the general email?

Cheers,
Graham

Hi Barry Thanks for the prompt reply. I am puzzled, however... I am running the latest version (build 380). I just unplugged my external backup drive and released a nightly job from the task scheduler. This is the resulting email: Subject: AISBackup: Autorun Wednesday, 7 July 2010 12:14:35 Message: ...

Indicate success or failure in email subject

I would like to see a more infomative subject line in the autorun completion email. Currently, the subject line is: AISBackup: Autorun <date and time> I would prefer to see: AISBackup: Autorun <status> - <backup name> ...where <status> is either: "FAILED" (where the backup did not run at a...

Hi Barry

I deleted the old job and created a new one with the same name using (I thought!) the exact same procedure as last time. The new job has Library.zip as its destination as required.

I have no idea how I managed to confuse it last time, sorry!

Thanks very much for your help.

Graham

Zip names don't match name of backup

I created a new backup job for an external disk by cloning an existing job via the "Base on this job" option. I then modified the selected files and the destination. I did it this way because I wanted the same session management setup. The new job is named "Library" and it backs ...
