Restoring Windows 2008 R2 to a blank disk
I tried to restore Windows 2008 R2. I first tried to install Windows 2008 R2 server and restore over the active installation. Unfortunately, to server did not boot after the restore. The problem is related to the 100MB Sytem reserved partition: on the old disk it was present, but it was missing on t...

Hello, Unfortunately this did not help. The task created by AISbackup is created as 'Run only when user is logged on'. This job works as it is. If I change it to 'Run whether user is logged or not' it does not run. This is true only on one of my two Server 2008 R2. This is true whether I run AISback...

I don't find where the problem lies, and I don't find any error. What happens is that AISbackup is running on the indica...

Truncating log files in Exchange 2010
Hello, In order to get the log files truncated, one must launch a full backup with Windows Server Backup (which is not the default). See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876874.aspx#SupBacTech. AISBackup does not do full backups, but only incremental backups, thats why log files don't ge...

Log files do not get truncated
Hello Barry,
With the new version of AISbackup, I can now backup all my Win2008 R2 servers backup completely, including the Exchange server.
My problem with Exchange server backup is that the log files do not get deleted after a backup as expected. What could be the problem?
With best regards

Hello Barry, I made some tests. No here's what I came up with: 1. The FAM service has three states: - started: it is started automatically on system startup - paused: it can be paused using the menu of the tray icon. It is paused when AISBackup is running but idle - stopped: with net stop famv4 2. P...
