Backup is a bit like insurance - you hardly ever need it but you just hope it works when you do!
Glad to say AISB fulfilled that duty admirably when one of my Win 7 computers completely lost its marbles. Just restored the entire Windows folder and all's completely back in business.

Re: Partitions
Each operating system should be installed in its own partition, never in a shared partition. There are too many folder differences for operating systems to co-exist in one partition. Barry Thanks Barry. Just to clarify, the two OS's will be in their own separate partitions - ne'er the twain shall m...

AISB with dual boot XP/W7
I will shortly be setting up a dual boot system (XP and W7) on a computer that's presently running XP Pro. AISB is presently running in XP.
Would it be necessary to install AISB in the W7 partition as well? Can AISB be in either partition and still back up the other?
Regards
John

Virus report
My ESET NOD32 AV program has reported the following as a potentially unwanted application:
cbsidlm-tr1_AISBackup-10061531.exe (609880 bytes).
Doubt very much if it's anything to do with AISB - I told NOD32 to clean it and AISB still works.
Anyone recognise this?
Regards
John

Reset Backup greyed out
My fault here - I've changed my external hard drive and reset the destination option.
I want to ensure that I get a full backup - but "Reset Backup" is greyed out. How do I make sure than the first backup on the new external drive is a full one?
Regards
John

Can't get rid of the "to do" message
Having just upgraded to the very latest version I have the "to do" message that I'd like to get rid of but the "hide" and other option buttons are greyed out and inactive. How do I do it? The other issue is that running through all the confirmation options after downloading the u...

Re: Checkpoint save
There is no reason within the current version of AISBackup for a slowdown in the checkpoint save; however if memory serves me right the checkpoint save used to check for deleted files on each save and that considerably increased the save time. AISBackup only checks for deleted files on the final sa...

Intermediate Checkpoint Save very slow
For some reason, the Intermediate Checkpoint Save process is taking a very long time, with the Backup Contents indicator creeping across taking some three minutes to complete each time. I'd not noticed this before - what could be the cause and can it be speeded up? I have the latest version, running...

Re: AISbackup License
You may transfer the 'home use' license from 2 PCs to the 2 new PCs, however if you now wish to use AISBackup on another 2 PC's (4 in all) you should purchase one more license. Thank you for your continued interest in AISBackup! Regards Barry Thanks Barry. Will be pleased to do so. How can I transf...

Licence extension
Since first purchasing AIS Backup a few years ago, I have acquired two more computers in the household on which I would like to install AISB. (I've tried the rest, now I want to install the best!!) Can I extend the existing licence (covering two PC's )for a fee to cover the new ones, or do I have to...

Microsoft Excluded Files (v. 2.8.0.383
I'm trying to get AISB to remove the Microsoft Exclusions and back them up. I've ticked "Backup Microsoft Exclusions" and hit the "Remove Microsoft Exclusions" button. It then confirms "Remove Completed". However the backup still warns that the exclusions are still in p...
