Old job says Never Backed Up
An existing job suddenly states it's Never Backed Up. The automatic re-instate on Preview cannot open any of the zip files on the media. After deleting the job and opening and re-instating it from media it has the Restore Button grayed out (even if I choose the For Restore-Only option). A Preview se...

There do not seem to be invalid or non-existing jobs. On several occasions I've seen an AISBackup tab appear and disappear on the taskbar while AISBackup was not activated at that time. The tab disappears quickly and the task runs on for a while in the system tray. I've lost focus while typing in OE...

I'm not entirely sure it only happens when the notepad message is displayed. I would say not, as it looks like Notepase stays open when the message appears and that would leave a whole bunch of open Notepads unaccounted for.

I'm running XP Pro and the backups go to a network drive over WiFi. I use TextPad32, Excel 2007 VBA editor and Visual Studio 2008. AISBackup 400. I'm running multiple scheduled backups and I can't seem to find a setting that does not make them collide somehow. The last time the focus moved from Text...

AISBackup stealing focus
I've scheduled AISBackup to make frequent (each 10 min) updates to another computer; like a kind of TimeMachine. Each time AISBackup apears in the system tray it steals the focus and I loose a piece of text when I was typing (which is kind of what I do all day) and I have to restore the cursor to th...

Re: Backup based on path length
Hi Barry, You seem to have ample room for the paths so I took a look and it's getting weirder. - The small file has proven to be on backup and it does restore. - The full pathname is 168 characters: D:\MultiMedia\Sound\John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers\Silver Tones - The Best of John Mayall & ...

Path length inconsistency between Selection and Backing up?
There seems to be a discrepancy between AISBackup FINDING a file for backup and actually backing it up. It looks as a path length problem as I can find files like these in the backups that have shorter path's. The total path length in this sample consisted of 168 characters, including "d:\"...

Re: Slow synchronisation jobs
When AISBackup is making a 2 way synchronisation it needs to list all files on the destination to see if there are any new files and folders, as you have seen this can take a long time over a network. However, this is done during the calculation phase and not after the synchronize. I have a job tha...

Super delay on redating synchronized volume
Hello Barry, After a sync job, AISbackup resets the time and date of al files on the destination drive. This is a very nifty feature as it allows quick synchronization of drives that are replicated by other means. AISBackup's overhead makes it too slow with drives larger than, say, 100GB and this al...

Re: Re Build 361 problems reply
Have you re-tried build 361 or are your posts based on using build 361 once? I am sure that if the contents file is correctly loaded from the backup media then the job will not select all files for backup. As I said in my previous post: If the disk containing the backup was not 'seen' by AISBackup ...

Re: Build 360 vs. 361
I am making a backup of C: and D: using 360 to an external drive called External1. I have a question about your backup as I do not have the .buz file from you to look for myself: Is the backup to multiple drives to enable on-site off-site backup with the 'Open backup contents from media' option set...

Re: Build 361 problems
Please explain how build 361 corrupts everything. Please explain step by step the single file copy is destroying your existing backup so that the problem can be replicated here and repaired. It would help if you could e-mail the <backup>.buz file or use the help/bug report function to send the comp...

Re: New post job paramaters
Using the prototype generated code, which extracts the drive letter you want, you can leave the generated code as is, except remove the pause command, and then access the drive letter using %drive% - there are examples in the code using the echo command. Barry Can I use that code in my own batch fi...

This will be fixed in build 361, buid 361 will also contain some additional parameters and an option to start the batch file by way as a prototype - this will extract the drive letter from the database path. Barry I've installed 361. Some observations: A. If I run a preview with 360 and also with 3...
