How to remove files or folders from all existing backups?
One of my customers has asked me to remove test data from an old project from one of our servers, including backups. Until now, the folder with this data was part of the AISbackups. How can I remove this folder (and all subdirectories and files) from the existing backups from this server? E/g when I...

Thanks for the information The initial backup is made by FTP to a local NAS, but later the local NAS is synchronized to an external storage. Both on the NAS and on the external storage it would be nice to have the option to use a non-zip extension. For new FTP jobs the default backup file extension ...

Option to use server IP addres for Passive FTP
L.S., in a passive FTP connection the FTP server will send a PORT a,b,c,d,e,f response to the client where a,b,c,d indicate the IP address and e,f the port number to use. If the server is behind a router/firewall some servers have an option to use the router public IP address in the PORT response, b...

Change ZIP extensions for existing jobs
L.S.,
when AISbackup is updated from an earlier release, you have the option to adjust the zip extension for existing jobs to aib
When you have answered NO to this option, is it later still possible to do it?
If it is possible, how can it be done?
Regards,
Arie

What to restart after a crashed backup NAS?
The users in our company make a nightly backup of their personal computers to a backup NAS (with AISbackup). During the day, this NAS is synchronized (with AISbackup) to 1 of a set of USB drives. Unfortunately, the backup NAS has crashed, so had to be restored from the most recent USB drive used. Wh...

CD / DVD info changed, but was never there
After I had installed build 402 over an existing AISbackup build 398, and started it, a message told me the CD / DVD had changed. This is weird as the computer concerned does not have (and never had) a CD / DVD drive When continuing I got a 'AISBackup did not detect a Disk Writer' window offering th...

Re: Changing a local drive backup to multiple external drive
If the disk has installed as a local drive backup instead as an external drive backup When I look at the Disk Properties in Windows Explorer, it says: Type: Removable Disk File System: NTFS Used space: 109,528,317,952 byts 102 GB Free space: 210,533,744,640 bytes 298 GB Capacity: 320,062,062,592 by...

How to use Removable Disks like tapes
On request of some of my customers I make, beside a (AIS)backup to a NAS, also a backup to removable reusable media of their servers. I used to use tapes for this, but with Windows Server 2008 tapes are no longer supported directly so I will have to use removable SATA disks ('RD1000') for this. Howe...

Can I run multiple jobs at the same time?
I'm using AISbackup a/o to synchronize the files on our NAS to a portable USB drive to take home at night. Now I need to do this for another NAS to a different USB drive at the same time. As far as I can tell my computer and network connections have enough performance/resources left to do this concu...

How to deal with date changing for test purposes
One of my computers is used to test a time driven program. To test this, the system date is changed to varying dates in the future (e/g 6, 11 and 18 January 2010). To make it more complicated, the test may be repeated, so the system date may be set to 6,11,18 January again. Currently the 'Backup fil...

Synchronization: how to auto-delete files?
currently I'm using DOS batchfiles to synchronize my NAS, used to store the AISbackup files of my servers, with 1out of 3 portable USB drives (each day another drive) - first I delete all files on the portable USB drive that are no longer on the NAS. I do this first in case the portable drive is run...

How to temporarely (due to maintenance) stop backups ?
I'm using AISbackup 2.7 (341) to backup about 45 servers. Some servers use the Externa Drive methode, other servers use the FTP method. They all backup to the same drive/nas/FTP server Because I'm running out of the 1 TB diskspace on the backup drive/nas, I plan to extend it to 2 TB. This will take ...
